Welcome to the Sales Magic blog. Along with this blog will be a YouTube Video site and a weekly sales teleconference. This blog is for you but it is also for me. To achieve high level sales skills the skills must be practiced, thought about and applied constantly. During the past couple of years I became involved with some problems that required my concentration and I noticed that my sales skills slipped. . What that means is that I lost sales. I lost business and I lost income.
Now, I am back with a vengance and want to take you along for the ride to great success because I learned a long time ago that we learn what we teach. I want to teach you to be the very best you can be in your sales career.
So let’s get started.
Who will benefit from this blog? The answer is commissioned sales people, the self employed, attorneys, CPA’s, financial planners, insurance agents, Realtors, Mortgage Brokers and more. The blog is not for the long cycle large corporate sales program or for the retail sales person; those are different skill sets. Who benefits? Those who are involved in relationship and invisible selling.
Sales can be broken down into many categories but personally I like to focus on three:
- Extraordinary product knowledge,
- a sharp sales attitude,
- and sales skills.(techniques)
The attitude I am talking about is not so much rah rah, but more of a quiet determination; an attitude of focus and concentration and of being in tune with possible opportunities.
Extraordinary product knowledge: This is where passion and enthusiasm come in. The best sales person is a person who is never caught off guard with unexpected situations and the only way to protect from that is over-preparation or simply being aware of all possibilities. That takes product knowledge. Knowledge of any product is a never ending study…there is never an end to product knowledge.
Sales Skills: dress, speaking, walking, nail-downs, tie-downs, trial closes, the steps of a selling cycle, time management, and marketing- all these come under sales skills. They are things that can be learned. It is easier to learn sales skills than it is to learn how to attain and keep a proper sales attitude.
To be the best; the best in sales you want to score excellent in all three areas. Be excellent with your attitude. Be excellent with your product knowledge and be excellent with all of your sales skills. Combine these three areas with desire and determination and you cannot fail; you can only win.
Each week there will be an educational blog, video and teleconference. There will be assignments. If you choose. If you commit. If you are passionate and develop the discipline that will be required for success; If you do those things then you will become a sales super-star.
